Be patient the Celtics will be okay

The 2014-2015 Boston Celtics are a strange, strange story. The team started the year with a bit of hope, newly healthy payers seemed like they were going to make an impact.

Young rookies like Marcus Smart seemed to bring some excitement. Then in the blink of an eye there’s a whole new group wearing green. It left fans like myself asking where this is going.

Gerald Wallace the leader; Brad Stevens the follower

by James B. Terry

Gerald Wallace’s role on this team has been reduced to almost zero.  He’s only played in once in the last six games and when he did get in, it was the final two seconds of a loss where he was called upon to throw the inbound pass.

But during last night’s Celtics-Mavericks game, CSNNE’s Abby Chin reveled something that didn’t sit too well with me.

Rondo hits at C’s defensive woes

by James B. Terry

To put things nicely, defense has been an issue for the Celtics the past two years.  Boston was 13th in points allowed last year and currently they are 25th this season.  Recently traded point guard Rajon Rondo has an explanation as to why the team is now struggling on the defensive end of the floor.

Nelson receives oddly familiar video tribute in return to Orlando

by James B. Terry

I have always been a sucker for a good video tribute on the JumboTron, which made me naturally excited when I heard that new Celtics point guard Jameer Nelson would be receiving one during tonight’s game against the Magic.

Celtics move into 8th in first game without Rondo

The Boston Celtics defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-98 at the TD Garden last night.  With the win, the Celtics moved to 10-14 on the season while Minnesota fell to 5-20.  A full box score can be found here.

The end of the Will Middlebrooks era in Boston

by James B. Terry

The San Diego Padres are closing in on a deal with the Boston Red Sox which would send third baseman Will Middlebrooks out west for catcher Ryan Hanigan.

Hanigan, a career backup, has appeared in over 100 games only once during his eight year MLB career, which he has spent with the Reds and Rays.  He was traded to San Diego just two days ago as his time as a Padre was short lived.  He’s hit just .208 over the past two season in a sample size of 447 at bats.

Clearly this isn’t the way many expected the Will Middlebrooks era in Boston to end after the way it began.
